  1. I believe (but not certain) the people that did not report this action could also be in trouble for knowing and not reporting. Also, there still might be BON involvement. but not sure
  2. Thank you to those who didn't judge. The whole story isn't there, but I did do what I said I did...circumstances behind this, but no excuses. I will update on the outcome, if interested.
  3. Would you recommend I update my current employer? I got notice of the investigation after I was hired to a new job last March. I was notified of the investigation last month. I feel like I owe it to my current nurse manager to update her, but am afraid I'll be left go being I'm under investigation.
  4. Could someone please clarify if these diversion situations were for controlled substances? In Dec. I took a zofran and antacid that were designated to be destructed (patient no longer taking). It was a VERY short staffed day and only one out of 7 med passers showed up and there was no back up nurse for me to be able to go home sick. We were always told if we leave without a replacement, it's patient abandonment. Well... it was found out I did this, I was terminated and I just received a letter from MN BON I am being investigated for drug diversion. Additionally, I didn't report a past DUI. Do any of you know someone that I could personally get in touch with on what to expect...someone that has experienced a similar situation or has board affiliation? I've been reading alot and am a wreck. I haven't slept a full night's sleep since December.
  5. I took a zofran and antacid that were in the pile for destruction/waste. I admitted to it and am now being investigated. Plus, didn't report a DUI. Does the board of nursing give one a chance to explain the situation? I was sick and couldn't leave work, because I couldn't find someone to cover for me. We were always told it's patient abandonment if you leave without coverage. Naturally, I was discharged from the position. I currently have a different job, but don't know what to expect as an outcome. So far, I've only received a letter stating I'm under investigation. What is the outcome of your situation?
  6. I'd be interested to know the progress on this situation. I'm in a similar one and need advice to know if anyone else has experienced this as well and would appreciate any good advice. I have that sick doomed feeling as well. My situation was I was very sick at work and took a zofran and OTC prilosec that was in our med destruction pile. We were severely understaffed at work and I was feeling miserable, but felt I couldn't leave the residents (assisted living) not being taken care of. This happened at the end of December 2021 and I just got a letter I'm under investigation for drug diversion! So...my heart goes out to this person. Advice please.
