Drug Cards

Hi my name is Mary and I'm second semester RN Student :) I've been doing some case studies and trying to keep up with class but also realized that I need to start working on my meds. Does anyone have any suggestions on really good Drug Cards to purchase?

no, we use Mosby's drug guide for nurses 9th edition that I'm not fond of. Are they drug cards?

It's an actual drug guide, probably similar to what you use. Here's a link with lots of resources and although it's for Davis's, it may still be helpful. I'm not sure if they have printable drug cards, but I know there are "flash cards" you can use to review via the web. This may or may not help you, but I have found it useful. We have to hand write a set of drug cards every couple of weeks for my Pharm class and boy, are they tedious!? Anywho, here's the link -- hope it helps:

When I went to LPN school, we could have drug cards, we just had to write the information on them on paper, and turn them in. By the time we wrote them, we knew them. Oh, and no taking them to the cart either. You better know your drugs when you walked up to that cart.

So I go to RN school on fast track program. Didn't ask too many questions.I walk up to the cart and the instructor looks at me and says "Where are your drug cards?" Me: "They are at home, why?" Instructor: "How will you know your drugs?" Me:" Let's do this."

I think writing the information, especially the really important stuff is a big help.

I and most of my class like these- Amazon.com: Mediquik Drug Cards (9781582553771): Lippincott: Books They contain all the pertinent info for nursing. Writing your own can help you remember, but as a fellow student pointed out to me "I need to learn the stuff in the book too, but I don't write that out", LOL I guess he's right.
