Drop out of program (Spring vs. Fall apps)

That would seem to be a colossal waste of time and money. If you leave your program on good terms and you've already been accepted to another program, you'll probably be ok. It's not something I'd consider doing without a very compelling reason, though.

Do the ASN programs have fall start dates, as well? Maybe you could wait to apply for the fall and then make a decision.

Yes I agree, I don't want to waste other people's time and chance of getting in a program either. I just feel so conflicted because I already turned in some apps but it's no guarantee that I'll get in anyway. They do have fall start too so maybe I'll wait and ask a few counselors and see what they think.

I actually had the same idea in mind as you.. I heard that CCSF, however, will be getting a bridge program similar to CSM. Basically, you attend both CCSF and SF State for the two years of the program. After graduation you complete one final summer semester and obtain your ASN from CCSF and BSN from SF State. I heard this from the nursing counselor at CSM. She told me that it would most likely happen within the year, but didn't have an exact date.

I hope that this does happen soon. I have also applied to SF State for fall admissions and plan on attending if I do get accepted (unless they start the bridge program in 2019). Worst case I just took an extra semester, but will have an upper-hand on the entering students.

Thanks for your input! Glad I'm not the only one thinking about this lol. When the nursing counselor tell you the bridge program for CCSF/SFSU? Because I hope it's implemented for spring 2019's cohort. I was going to apply to CSM as well because they have a connection to SFSU but it's not a guarantee whether I'll get in, and I'm also not sure if I'll get into CCSF for fall 2019 since there are usually more applicants for fall. But a bridge program would relieve me from the stress of thinking about what the best decision I can make. That makes one more question I have for the orientation coming up!

I guess at CSM you wouldn't start taking SF State classes until the second semester, so there is hopefully a good chance that spring 2019 cohort may be able to be the first ones for this program at CCSF. Fingers crossed! Hopefully we get an answer to this at orientation; I'm sure they have a lot of students with the same goal in mind.

Cool thing was (if they adopt the same program as CSM) that you would take all of your SF State classes at CCSF. So this would be a much cheaper route, and possibly free if free city applies to this.

That's one of the questions on my list to ask them! If free city applies to the nursing program, which I'm assuming it will but I want to be completely sure. If it also applies to the state classes that would save so much money too.
