Hi!

I am applying to ’s online FNP program for fall 2020. I would like to hear from others who are/have applied to the program and your experience!

How much experience did you have at the time of application? What was your gpa?

Hi everyone! I just got accepted into the Adult PC Post Grad Cert NP program at ! They just sent me an email! Woohoo! Has anybody else heard back yet?

Congratulations!!! I applied in the beginning of January and have not heard back yet. I live in DE and am hoping to find clinical sites locally. I’m hoping that they’ll help us with placement if we are struggling. I’m willing to travel to philly if needed.

Good luck everyone!!

I'm sure they will help--it is a requirement after all to provide clinical experiences ....and at least they should have availabilities in Philly and perhaps southern NJ.

I applied back in November. I applied to a few other schools who all had November/December deadlines and I wanted to get them all out of the way lol

Hi RNbannanie !

I was just recently accepted into 's fall 2020 acute care np, however they said they only offer assistance for clinical placement not guaranteed placement for I'm hesitant, most np's I know say it can be very difficult ? how hard was it for you?

I can not answer this question as I am not a student there, but I can tell you that my advisor said that because the clinical sequence is sequential and each is offered only once/year--IF you have to sit out for a clinical term, you must wait ONE year before you can re-enter at the point you left off with. Theoretically, if this happens twice, you've taken nearly three years to complete clinical. I do not know if, or how often this happens or how much support provides in the process.

Hi @idani, I was also accepted into the WHNP cohort for this fall! I saw your name over on the Duke thread, I'm also waiting on a decision for their WHNP program. I live in NYC (which will make clinicals tough) but am leaning toward due to the cost and ease of campus visits.

Hey @botanista I live in NYC as well LOL we are officially grad school buddies. Let me know what program you choose. But I agree would definitely be cheaper, I am concerned about having to find clinicals at least Duke would do that for you.

Oh WOW!, same NYC situation! ?

The woman who interviewed me at Duke said we most often have to find our own clinicals, which was making me lean more toward given the proximity/potential for more relationships in NJ. Did you hear differently regarding Duke? That would definitely be a game changer if Duke has clinical placements nearby or provides some assistance.

The frequency of campus visits (Nora said six?) to Duke are also a bit of a deterrent, it would be much easier to get to Drexel and I think it's only two visits. I also applied to the FNP program at Pace but haven't heard yet. I figure that would be the easiest option.

Ultimately, I wonder how much impact the reputation of the school has on your career afterward? I've heard it doesn't really matter, but Duke certainly stands apart.
