Drexel ACE'rs placement rate

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hi all...I'm sorry, but I don't remember where I read this in the posts on this site. I read somewhere that the ACE program has a 100% job placement rate for its graduates! I wonder if this is true?? Any former ACE'rs want to have their say? I'm starting this fall and would love to hear from those who know first hand! Good luck to all!

Im curious as well! Anyone have the numbers?

I'd like to know as well- especially with the current economic conditions.

I can't speak to the exact placement rate, though I'm sure the nursing department has some kind of stats on it (I'd imagine it would be hard to get exact numbers, unless every grad reported it to the school). I frequently run into ACE grads on the floors during clinicals, and I've heard good things from them, as well as from former students I was connected with when looking at the program. I keep hearing that PA & southern NJ hospitals are familiar with the program and like ACE grads (seems that it's a little more difficult to get jobs in DE, as there are fewer hospitals and less opportunities for new grads) and to take your NCLEX right away. No horror stories to report as of yet :-)

Ultimately, I think that although graduating from a program with a good reputation can help to a certain extent, when it comes to getting a job, it's really up to you. That being said, people who successfully complete the ACE program also tend to be the type of people who make good employees, and from what I've encountered, good nurses.

The Philly job market is extremely tough for new grads right now. I'd bet my house that does not have a 100% placement rate or anything near that for the last several graduating ACE classes. I know new Jefferson FACT grads aren't getting offers these days.

Oh I'm sure. When I was still planning to doing my prerequisites and planning to apply to Jeff too, I remember hearing that the students who got a scholarship for work contract (who you think would be given first pic preference since they'd already been invested in) were having hard times placed at Jeff, and then my husband found out they are on a hiring freeze when he tried to get an ER tech job. I hear a lot of the same things about other hospitals. And this was a year and a half/two years ago.

Still, it's nice to try to get a sense of how helpful the school's reputation is, how supportive they are in the job hunt, and how beneficial having (a very expensive!) BSN over an ASN is in a competitive market. I don't think numbers will really reflect what's going on currently completely, but if the class that graduated recently is doing alright right now, I'd feel a little reassured.

I turned down CCP in favor of , and as the economy worsens I just get nervous that I've made a bad financial decision. And I'd really like to be able to stay in Philly- it's taken me 3 years, but I do not hate it here anymore ;)

You know what's weird? Go to Jefferson's website and click on the links for open nursing jobs. Listen to the crickets chirping. It's spooky; a major teaching hospital with no nursing jobs open.

I like Philly, too. A lot. :)
