Drexel ACE fall 2015

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Published

Hi all!

I just submitted my application for Drexels ACE fall 2015 program and was curious if anyone else has applied or heard back from admissions?

I have a 3.1 cGPA and around a 3.4 sGPA, is this considered competitive with past applicants?

Also, how is everyone planing on paying for this-I understand it's pretty pricey and aid packages aren't close to covering it...

Best of luck!

my GPA was a overall 3.1 and a 3.5 science GPA

Here is Rutgers Camden link:

ABS Admission | School of Nursing - Camden

What other schools is everyone applying to that doesn't have a ton of prereqs and is affordable?

Thanks. Wow there are significantly more prereq credits required for Rutgers Camden.

Jefferson I think has the same pre reqs as except you need letters of Rec and GRe scores if you're below a 3.2!! Hope this helps!

good luck!!

Jeff also requires Chem II but not developmental psych

As expected, the hold is a reflection on how my current grades will be by the end of the semester.

Out of curiosity - those accepted & on hold, how many pre-req's do you still have left to do?

I'm currently in microbiology and developmental psych. I have to retake stat since I don't think they'll accept my psych statistics.

Well my application was finally put on hold this morning. Oh well gives us all more time to apply to more schools and shop around :)

Wednesday's information session went well. Both the admissions and clinical instruction staff seemed professional, open and candid. The prospective students had far more questions than could be answered during the session's time frame. Here are some points that I took away:

1) Fall cohorts typically begin with 80-110 students. Usually this group is then further divided into three groups. With attrition, the three groups are recombined to two.

2) The program is divided into four ten-week quarters.

3) The first quarter is classroom only (no clinicals), with classes Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. (My memory says classes Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, but my notes say Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday...I imagine this would be easy enough to check) Expect to be at school 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

4) The remaining quarters one can expect classroom Monday and Tuesday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Three of the following days will involve clinicals: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Students are expected at the clinical site at 6:30 AM and the day will conclude at 12:45.

Thank you so much for posting this!! Did they say if people ever are able to hold a part time job?

Also so did they say anything about financing?

Someone did ask about working. IIRC, the instructor answered that working would be difficult, schedule-wise and that she only remembered one student doing it successfully. My take would be that if I were working, I'd keep it on the DL and so the instructors wouldn't necessarily know. The admissions representative answered questions about financing. I believe she said there would be no scholarships provide by and that as a second degree program, students should expect little outside help.

And...FWIW, I've completed the prerequisites and haven't yet received a decision.
