  1. Hi! So here is my situation: I have been on this SICU for about two years (ICU nurse for 4) and have a night shift/rotation requirement. This is a nice unit, I am comfortable with the people and the acuity is interesting enough. So now I have been offered a full time day shift job on a different SICU in the same health system for the same hourly rate (minus shift dif). I know a few nurses/NPs/PAs who work on this other SICU and say the acuity isn't the most interesting. I was not allowed to shadow due to the COVID rules in place but my friends sent a video of the unit to me so I could see it virtually. I guess I am just nervous about leaving a job that I like but I am struggling with working nights in my personal life now. I have been rotating or full time nights for 4 years and I'm definitely unhappy with my personal life and health when I am sleeping through the day and chronically tired. I have no option to be full time day shift at my current job for 8 more years. I know night shift works for some nurses and I used to like it but now I am so conflicted by this decision. Thanks for any insight or for sharing any experiences.
  2. Hey everyone so I just started a job in an ICU as a unit secretary. I have never had a job in a hospital before this -- I used to be an accountant and now I am going to nursing school. Anyways I just started getting Nightmares about my family members being in the ICU beds now that I've started working in one. I was really surprised when this started happening. Did any of you go through this with your first experiences? Any advice or words of wisdom?
  3. It took months to hear back for me. I also applied with prereqs outstanding
  4. Hey you should add our Facebook page ☺☺ congrats!!
  5. I am accepted in the Drexel program for the spring but want to apply to Rutgers too for Spring 16. Does anyone know the deadline and if all prereqs must be completed before applying?
  6. So is this program $ 11,217 per year? also do they allow you to take bio ethics or genetics while enrolled?
  7. Hey I took Intro to Nurtition too and it transferred over easily
  8. Hey guys -- I know this is an older thread but I wanted to post on it because I am sure some of you have graduated the ACE by now. Were there students that graduated with good GPAs? I'm worried that this program is so intensive that I might be setting myself up for a lower undergrad GPA if I ever decide to pursue a MSN.
  9. https://www.facebook.com/groups/394507670673743/ Created a facebook group for Spring 2016. I'm excited to meet everyone !!!
  10. Hey guys I started a facebook group for the Spring 2016 ACE class because I'm interested in connecting with everyone https://www.facebook.com/groups/394507670673743/
  11. Awesome! I hope we're future classmates :)
  12. Hmm I'm not sure about other people's experience. I was wait listed for the fall entry and eventually they withdrew me from consideration. Then I reapplied for spring and got in. Did you call and bug them? I had them waitlist me for the sprig too and I called and asked why. I asked them to reconsider based on my current grades because I wasn't submitting summer prereqs.
  13. I got accepted to spring 16 and I sent one. When I sent my fall 15 app in without the letter I didn't get in. Don't know if that means anything.
  14. I graduated from Temple University with an accounting degree 3.75 My prereqs GPA is a 4.0 I have Chem and micro left to complete
  15. Hey guys just heard back and I am accepted !!!
