Hey! So I'm attending a class for nurses at the hospital I work at. There isn't anything about a dress code. Should I wear scrubs or go business casual? Help!

Probably business casual (assuming this will be in a classroom schedule)- my employer a few months ago made a policy that for all CE classes "no jeans, no open toe shoes, business casual only". Seems like I minded going to it less when I could wear whatever I wanted

Usually business casual, unless you are also scheduled to work on the floor either before or after the class - in which case it should be fine to show up in scrubs.

Business casual is the norm ... not too casual, but definitely comfortable. However, all of the hospitals I have worked in have been OK with scrubs if the class is being held in the hospital itself. Most people understand that not everyone has a business casual wardrobe. But I wouldn't recommend wearing scrubs if the class is in a different building, local hotel, etc.

Here in cali you can wear whatever you want. Shorts t shirts etc. Not sure how it is in the rest of the country...
At my hospital (on the East Coast) ... that degree of casual would not be permitted unless it was being held at someone's house. Whenever we can be seen by patients and families -- in the hospital, wearing our name tags, etc. ... we need to be "presentable". No shorts -- no sundresses, no tank tops, no bare mid-riff tops, etc.

Usually I go in scrubs. Sometimes for meetings I will wear jeans and a plain t-shirt (like education on the sepsis protocol). If it is AHA classes, I will usually go in jeans. For paramedic refresher, I wore jeans except the day I worked the 12 before and I wore scrubs (and almost fell asleep). If it was an expensive CEU or one put on by someone I may know, I would probably wear business casual
