DQ Air Force

Published

After 1 year, 9 months and a few days I called and received the word today. We are now awaiting written confirmation since the recruiter has no idea about which part the DQ actually covers....

I probably would have found out sooner if I would have started climbing the command chain sooner: I found out this soon because I finally did jump up the chain. So my advice to those who have to go through the waiver process give it about 60 days and be polite but persistent and if necessary use that command structure..

Anyway:

I kind of believe the active duty route will be a no go for the Army as well but I am looking into contractor options.... Yep may not get all the fun and privileges of being active military but I still may be able to do my part....

Best wishes to you all who are serving and will be serving in the future.......

sorry to hear that jd - best of luck on the contractor aspect - and hope you continue to be active on this board! I imagine other would love to find out more about contracting or other direct support options available to those who want to work around or contribute to our military.

Hmmm looks like I don't have to settle for contract I can go full time with the Army (Email from the nice Army folks today):

Please go to the web-sites http://www.cpol.army.mil or http://www.usajobs.gov. You will find vacancy announcement numbers along with information on how to apply. These are full time civilian positions.
