My instructor has a tendency of putting reconstitution dosage calculations on our exams. The problem is she asks for the dilution information. For example: (I just made this up so I dont know if it will actually work out. I just need to know how to set the problem up)
A pt is ordered to receive 70mg of gentamicin IM. The drug needs to be reconstituted to achieve a concentration of 200mg/mL. How many mL of dilution should be added.
How do you solve these types of problems?

There should be a label given with the problem

We weren't given any real education or materials on how to do these kinds of questions either, but I did find a book on Amazon that was very helpful with all the med math you'll encounter. Henke's Med-Math (Dosage Calculation, Preparation, and Administration) helped me pass all my med tests the first time....I'd definitely recommend it. Buy a previous/used edition (same material!) and save some money :) Good luck!

This is missing something... like ~passionateSN~ said.
Ask your instructor for practice problems.

yea something is missing... why are they asking for how much needs to be diluted??? that not usually how orders come!
