Can some one please help me here. I am a first your prereq. and taking this course online and don't quit understand.
Ancef .3g IV is ordered for your patient. Ancef is supplied 500mg reconstitution. How much reconstitution is required to make 250mg/ml

it looks like you may be missing information in this problem. reconstitution problems normally have amounts of ml to add to the mix to get a concentrated medicine. maybe there is a label to read above or below the question that has this information.

yup you need the amount of fluid to reconstitute with otherwise impossible to answer.

It appears that there is info missing, but my thoughts would be....
You are being give 500mg to reconstitute. If you add that to 1 mL, you would have 500mg/mL . If you added it to 2 mL, you would have 500mg/2mL. Dividing the 2 into the 500 would give you 250mg/ml. Your answer would be 2 mL. The 0.3g IV would be "fluff" (irrelevant).
