unless you want the stress that goes with it......

Emergency in Athletics. Normally I don't have to deal with these things, but today I did. (I over reacted a little, but would not change anything) A Little Darling dislocated his knee cap. Spontaneously, while doing an exercise he's done plenty of times. I went out and seen the coach had the leg stabilized, I went to call 911 (the over reacting part. Not second guessing, I debriefed with my boss) and to call the parent since she is on another campus. Well, I could not get mom to answer because a secretary in the front office called her and told her. She had not seen the student or anything. She just heard he had "broken" his leg and thought she would call mom. Really!!!!!

It turned out all right. We have a teacher/trainer that came and "fixed it". She ended up talking to mom and treating with trainer's equipment and LD stayed on campus. But let me do my job.

Rant over.

Have a great weekend. Peace out!!!!

So, that's a legitimate complaint. I would approach it as: Please don't get involved unless I press you into service. You tied up the line and you made it so a parent did not receive critical and correct information about the health of their child.

Regarding EMS....never second guess calling them. I cannot re-install a kneecap. It's nice that a teacher with some athletic training could, but I have no doctor's orders for that so, much as I hate it, I would stabilize and have EMS transport (I don't think they can re-install a kneecap, either).

Have a better day!
