Congratulations! I finished earlier this month. Great feeling.

Hi I'm a new nurse (just graduate Dec 22) and passed exam on Jan 4. Part of all that is to Tpapn.  I have no idea what I'm getting into.  Trying to find a evaluator and job.  What is ahead of me?

Are you able to log into spectrum360 yet? I believe there is a long list of evaluators on there under resources! If not, ask your case manager to send you a list. There is a slight chance you might get insurance to cover it, but it has to be a TPAPN approved evaluator and many didn't take insurance for this eval (you could submit it yourself though!) If you have an HSA or FSA you can use that. The job part was a little tricky. Rehabs, Dialysis and case management tend to hire nurses with stipulations. You could also look at being a wound care nurse or a diabetes educator. Congratulations on graduating and getting licensed! The next few years will be over before you know it ?

Thanks and thanks for the reply!

I have received an email that the initial order for joining will come this week, but I have had a few drinks in the past few months. Will the initial drug screen fail? And if I do will that prevent me from staying in the program. I've just waited so long I graduated in May last year and I'm finally going to be able to take the NCLEX and I'm worried my depressive drinking might stop that

I would definitely not drink in the few days before the test if you can, but I'm really not sure if it would count against you. I would think it absolutely shouldn't, but I've read a few posts on here that make me think otherwise. I drank a few glasses of wine the night before my initial drug screen, but it came back negative for some reason. I'm not sure what exactly they tested for, so its possibly the initial screen didn't include etoh. Either way, it wouldn't keep you from joining the program.

Thank you! Hopefully not.
