Hi! I applied to Dominican College Weekday ABSN for the 2022 start! Anyone else apply?

I also got that packet back in September too. But then again, I never got a congrats email or anything in the mail yet. I dunno!!

Hey, have you heard anything? Also, do you know when the program starts?

Hi, no I have not heard anything yet but my guess is that if we are supposed to recieve them at end of November then they will probably have to mail them sometime this week because they won't be on campus working due to Thanksgiving. So my presumption is they will be sent out soon. If I get anything I'll let you know. I'm waiting myself I need to put a deposit to felician by the 24th to hold my spot, but I was hoping to not have to do that.

Oooh! Okay yes makes sense. I don't think I will be getting into Stony Brook because I didn't get an email about an interview. I am still waiting on Binghamton. I was accepted to 3 others but I got an extension until Jan and Feb for them. This is stressful!!

Well you never know, they don't always finish or start everyone's processes at the same time. So maybe you will. Well hopefully you get accepted to whichever your desire is, but you have options so no need to be stressed!  You've got 3 so far to choose from haha, some people don't get into any so be proud of yourself!

You’re right! I’m trying not to stress but it’s hard. The other schools are just sooo much money and I’m already in so much debt LOL, I can’t stomach taking out more!

Yeah I know it's rough try applying for any scholarships you can. There is also nursing Corp, but not sure you'd want to do that. Before I came back to school I worked a ton of overtime for years. Don't think about the cost now, when you're done just get a job and pick up extra shifts or work side per diem, you will pay it off before you know it. Only other option I ever considered was working for a hospital full time in any position and having them pay for school but that would take 2 more years to do. It is an option to look into if you're willing to wait. They usually will pay within 6 months of employment, but you'd probably have to do a 2 years part time program. The way I see it though the sooner your done the sooner you can work and hustle to pay it back with OT and right now I have friends making 5 grand a week after taxes travel nursing so just stay focused on the task not the financial aspect right now.

That’s true! My dads a nurse so I know it’s doable financially. Also, my acceptance got delivered today!

Well then you are familiar with what to do. I'm sure you've done your homework. Congrats, which school? Dominican or Stony?

For sure I have! I agree I’m just trying to get it done. I’m graduating with my bachelors in December then gonna go right back to school. And from Dominican!

Haha perfect timing, you will get a little break in between to study if you start in may. Thats great, I wish mine would of came today I really don't feel like paying for a deposit for the other school LOL. I have until Tuesday, you applied early though right? I applied like right at the end.

Yes that’s my plan! And yes I applied super early, the heading on my acceptance letter was dated December 1st so I’m sure they’re sending a bunch out. Also, if I read it correctly it says I have 7 days to respond

Ahh thats awesome, well hopefully Stony comes with a decision soon so you can decide. Did you have to do a writing sample? LOL. I got a letter saying I have to do one for admittance. Kind of strange considering I have over 250 credits and all As in english courses and research paper courses.
