Has anyone taking this mandatory class and where do we take it? My employer says that DOH is mandating a one time suicide prevention class for license renewal. Of course one doesn't have to take it, but if you are audited they will know..
My employer has one class for us offered through another entity who isn't offering further classes. This has left many of us scrambling.
I heard there is a class for 40.00 but nobody at work seems to know anymore than the cost.

Here's the link to the WA DOH website with the requirements. Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission :: Washington State Dept. of Health
This one's probably better. http://www.doh.wa.gov/portals/1/Documents/Pubs/SuicidePreventionTraining.pdf
Thank you! That second link was helpful. I also talked to DOH, who answered a lot of questions for me.

It's not just nurses, it's everyone. Social workers, PT, OT, counselors, psychologists...everyone who looks like they deal with people.
Yep, I knew that. Sucks for everyone.
