I have been applying to nearly EVERY listing on craigslist, 24/7! I never get a followup call or any response at all. I am also in the VA system and apply that way to no avail either!
I don't even care really WHERE in WA the job is, I just want to move. I had preferences about an hour or so from Seattle but I can't seem to get anything in Spokane or Vancouver either! I am a LPN with going on 5 years experience plus other experiences including working in a nursing home and home care. I'm currently working on my RN. I send my resume and everything when I apply but nothing happens.
The only thing I can come up with is that WA does not like to hire people from out of state for whatever reason. I have been at this every since April 2012. I need something stable since this will be a relocation move, and this job will have to support me. What am I doing wrong? I do realize LPNs are being phased out however there are still currently newly posted positions online everyday.

HI
I recently did a job search in Seattle and found that the hospitals liked it if I applied through their websites. Also are you licensed in WA, most of the jobs I found want you to already have a WA license or else they won't even consider you.
Good Luck

Yes they absolutely hire people from out of state. Here is what I did. 1. "Google" hospitals in Wa state. The site that I used is http://www.theagapecenter.com/Hospitals/Washington.htm
2.Go to each site and look for a job you might want.
3. When you find the job you might like, CALL the nurse recruiter. What I did was introduce myself over the phone and said "I see you have an opening for .....". When they said yes we do, I came back with "I am interested in exploring the possibility of a partnership between us".
4. Did a Skype interview.
5. Accepted the offer.
6. Moved from Florida to Washington.
I hope this helps.
PS Applied for a Wa endorsement before the interview.

What the others said. Try that route. I'm not sure if LPN's are hired in most hospitals. I can't speak for others. That might be your problem. It has nothing to do with being out of state though.
Thank you everyone! Sorry for the delay. I have been going to the hospital websites. I do realize hospitals likely won't hire me. I just do not want to work with an agency or home health because they are unstable and no benefits.
I have been sending my resume to nearly ALL craigslist postings. Yes I do have a WA license, it is on my resume also. I have a real physical license right here!
I have to admit what REALLY frustrates me is that when I call they also ask this. It is on my resume. I recall one time I called to follow up and I was asked if I was licensed there, I said yes I am licensed in Washington, and I guess because I am in Virginia the conversation basically went into I have to be licensed into Washington STATE, not DC.
I surely hope these other recruiters are not jumping to conclusions like that and disregarding me assuming I am not licensed in WA STATE or that I am mistakingly applying to WA state instead of DC. I am licensed in WA and I want to work in WA. Half the time I even have to give my license for these jobs!
More recently I called nearly every facility I saw in federal way area and when I asked if they had LPN positions I was asked "for a man or woman"? I was surprised for the question and apparently I answered wrong because he replied with "no" so wow. These are all things I can not control so I have no idea what to do at this point. Like I said I'd love to live in Seattle but anywhere in WA is better than where I am now I suppose.
