I'm in my second half of a 1 year LPN program. When we signed our contracts we were told we would take a monthly HESI on each subject we learned (ie 1 in maternity, 1 in peds, 1 in med/surg) and a final exit HESI. The monthly HESI's wouldn't count toward our final grade but we would not be allowed to graduate or sit for N-CLEX if we didn't pass the exit with an 850 by the third try.
This week they released a notice stating that ALL Hesi's will count toward our final grade and will make up 40% of our final! In other words, we could have 100% on all course work and exams and be "Superstudent" in clincals but we would STILL only have a 60% (failing grade). We are about to take our first "monthly" HESI and are totally distraught since this is a huge change. it can and will affect many of us.
So I'm curious does your school include your HESI grades in your final and if so is it such an enormous percentage of your total grade?
TIA!!!

We have ATI testing. It's not included in our final grade but we do have to score so high on it in order to sit for the NCLEX-PN. If yours are anything like ours good luck. It's hard, but very informative. It will let you know where you are weak and what to study. We also get practice codes from our instructor so we can take practice test and get feedback on our weak points. We take an ATI test at the end of each semester which is about every 7wks, but the only one we have to worry about is the accumulative one we have to take prior to our completion of the program. Thats the one that they use to indicate whether you can pass the NCLEX.
what school do you go to ???

Hmmm...you must go to the same school that I go to. Wonderful, huh? My class is moving onto 102 in March and we were just told, with about 2 weeks notice, that the Hesi Fundamentals would count as 40 percent of our grade. Although I have an A now, i am not sure it will remain that way. I am very stressed! How did you do on your HESI? I have heard through the grapevine that the 102 classes were doing well on their HESI's. I am assuming half of my class will be gone after this fundamentals HESI.
