Hi everyone, I'm a new ADN in Ohio looking for a bachelor's program to get my 4 year degree. My end goal is to earn my CRNA, but I'm having trouble decided what university I should attend for my BSN. I'm concerned that if I choose to go to a less well-known university for my degree that I will be passed over in favor of other nurses during the selection for admission to a master's program. Does a bigger name university help? Or is it more dependent on your GPA, GRE, or clinical experience?
For more info, I'm in a rural area so I want an online program so I don't have to travel several hours for class/clinical/testing. There's a lot of different programs that my fellow nurses are using: Ohio University, Kaplan, etc, whereas I'm wondering if University of Toledo or OSU will actually give me a better education.

Do what I did. I e-mailed the councilor at the CRNA school I want to attend and asked if the online school for my BSN was recognized (liberty university) by them (St. Mary's University). They replied that it was recognized and made no difference as long as it was nationally accredited.

My nurse manager had told me that if I was going to use my BSN to further my career to get it from a prestigious university. Try and avoid Walden and the University of Pheonix type places.

UT has a wonderful nursing program. I'd highly recommend applying. My cousin is doing the CRNA through Lourdes
