Does this sound like something I should do?

Hi all!

I've written before about my changing career paths from Gyn onc to L&D very soon. It ends up because of my honeymoon and pay period dates that I will have 3 1/2 weeks off between the two. So basically I leave to get married, off for that time, then start off in L&D when I return.

So... I am familiar with our L&D unit - to a degree. Would it be strange to ask for a shadow day during my time off since I already have the position and would be starting soon? Honestly ladies, please let me know. Would I be jumping the gun, since I will be on orientation?

I'm getting married and honeymooning in Pigeon Forge, TN. It's right near Gatlinburg. We chose it (and this time of year) for the foliage in the mountains. We've rented a cabin there for 7 nights.

Aw, congrats! :) My parents actually live right outside Pigeon Forge. It'll be good snuggle up by the fire weather there...wink wink nudge nudge. :) And Dollywood is a blast so be sure to go there. But go with an empty stomach because they have TONS of junk food there that is sooooo good. Yum. Y'all have fun.
