Does Santa Monica College really want prereqs completed BEFORE I apply?

Santa Monica College says they want my prerequisites completed BEFORE I apply. So I can't apply if I'm finishing them up? (ie. applying next Spring when I'll be enrolled in the last of my prereqs). Does anyone know the answer to this question?

Yes that's correct. You can only apply once you are done with English 1, Anatomy, Physiology and Microbiology. Note that Chemistry is a prereq. for Physiology, if you haven't taken it in the past 5 years. So if you are planning on applying next Spring (March) you need to finish your last prerequisite by the Fall or during the 5 week Winter semester (if they have the class available). The remaining GE requirments in addition to Pharmacology (Nurs17) and Dosage Calculation (Nurs.36) you can take while you are on the waiting list but it's best to do Nursing 17 & 36 the semester before you start the program so that you have it fresh in your memory.

Double check the Nursing departments website or call them so you can make sure there are no new changes...just in case.
