I work in a O.R. in the Peach state were last week cameras were installed. The location of the camera's show the entire room, but the O.R table is my concern in addition to patient privacy and Hippa violations. Can any one shed some light on this subject...Does your area have camera's. Oh these camera video sit in Internal control and can be viewed by any person that is up at this station.:stone

Most facilities have or are installing video surveilance: pt rooms, hallways, med & supply rooms, bathrooms, meeting rooms, lounges, et al.

in the OR no. In the halls and at elevators/entryways YEP.

IN the OR, no, but the facing the entrance doors to the OR floor, yes.

All I know is if I were a patient in an operating room and the didnt get my specific consent for taping, which by the way I would never give, me an my attorney would be having a little chat with some people. As far as staff goes unless you have a contract you are probably an at will employee so you have to take whatever comes.
