Hi,
I am interested about moving back to NS once I graduate (RN) and I am wondering if Nova Scotia has a new grad inititative program. Does anybody know?
Thanks

Nova Scotia doesn't have a "new grad initiative" in the same way that Ontario does, as in providing a guaranteed employment situation to new grads for 7 months and then letting the chips fall where they may. Pictou County Health Authority has a programme they call the New Graduate Promise Programme that has only just gotten off the ground. They have provided placement for 4 new graduates from Pictou County nursing ed programmes that ensures a full year of support for the transition. http://www.pcha.nshealth.ca/pictoucounty/newsandevents/mr_Feb6_2009.html Cape Breton Health Authority has a similar programme, for graduates of local nursing ed programmes. But there is no province-wide initiative.
Has Dr. Duck-it gotten to you?
Well, I was planning on working in Edmonton but if I can't find a full time job here I will be moving. I have been a LPN since 1990 and now taking the LPN to BN program, I figure I've spent my time on the casual list (even though not as an RN). If Duck-it thinks Alberta doesn't need anymore RNs then I'm sure I lot of new graduates will be leaving to find full-time work.
