Hi there. I am graduating from the RN program at Excelsior and going to work on getting my RN-BSN through Excelsior and get my required critical care experience. I read in another post that there are graduates of Excelsior that got into CRNA school. My question is... does it matter if I went to an LPN school that was not regionally accredited? Most CRNA school sites say that you have to submit all transcripts. Since Excelsior gave me college credits for being an LPN and I received my associates from Excelsior, will I even have to submit my LPN program transcripts? Anyone have any info on this? Thanks!!!

You will have to submit transcripts from every post secondary school you attended. Withholding transcripts would constitute fraud and if discovered would be grounds for immediate dismissal.
Okay thank you Class2011. I wouldn't ever intentionally do anything that was fraudulent, I just thought maybe it wouldn't matter because Excelsior granted me credits for my LPN license. I understand now.
Does anyone know if your LPN school has to be accredited? Has anyone gotten into CRNA school who went to a private school like mine that wasn't accredited?
Thanks!
Just that people often don't appreciate the potential consequences of withholding information on any application really. Wasn't implying anything personal
If no one replies, the answer might be to just call schools and ask them. My gut says that if it's good enough to get an RN license, it should be good enough

how were you able to upgrade into a rn program if your lpn program was not accredited? i know all the lpn to rn programs around here state that they will only accept you if you graduate from a accredited program. it might be wise to make sure the rn program you get into has all the bells and whitsles of accreditations and the same for the bsn program too, this might be frowned upon by the admission panel. good luck.

To me, it would not matter if your LPN program was not regionally accredited. You'll have your RN from an accredited program and that's really what counts. But if you're worried, contact a few anesthesia programs and ask for their opinions.
My LPN program was nationally accredited, but is in the process of getting it's regional accreditation which is how most of the private lpn schools are in my area. I was able to take my boards without a problem. If I would have continued at my school for the LPN-RN program, I would have had a problem getting credits to transfer. However, my RN school accepted me with just an LPN license and all my other pre-reqs and stuff I completed at a university or through Excelsior. The RN and BSN program at Excelsior is full accredited and I saw in other posts here that there are SRNAs or CRNAs that went to excelsior as well and had no issues. So I know there isn't a problem with my RN program, just wondered if my LPN program would be an issue.
Thank you for all the responses!!!
