I am going to be a RN in Illinois. I am considering applying to CRNA programs after 1-2 years of experience as a RN, but I can claim residency (in-state tuition) in both Illinois and California because my dad is in the Army. I will graduate from the University of Illinois Chicago Nursing program so does that mean I can only be a RN in the state of Illinois? If so, if I did get accepted to a CRNA program in California would I have to return to Illinois to work as a CRNA?
On a side note, how much does a CRNA program usually cost on average? I have heard of students signing a contract for a CRNA job while they are still in school and the company that signed them will pay for their tuition costs. Is this common?

You can be an RN in any state. You just have to apply for a license in whatever state you choose. You can go to each states board of nursing to find out how to apply for a license in their state. I've worked in AZ, MO and OH. Good luck!
