Does this look like a viable plan?

I keep coming back to this specialty. It intrigues me. Currently I am still a baby as far as my schooling goes (I am finishing my co-req's/pre-req's while waiting for clinicals to start in August). But as a student, I am a "non-traditional" one - 31 yo mother of three who has been a SAHM for 7 years.

My plan is as follows:

  • Graduate with my ADN in May 2007, with honors;)
  • Complete a BSN program online while working as an RN
  • Get appropriate experience in ICU and elsewhere
  • Apply for CRNA school in 8 years or so (when my kids are older and I can commit to the strenuousness of the program)

Do you think that is too long of a gap in my schooling? Any advice for me? I have read Nilepoc's sticky thread - awesome wealth of information. Thanks :)

sounds like a winner to me...good luck

Thanks Chatsdale :)

Wow over 100 views and just one reply... Bummer LOL

let me reply number two for ya------anytime you can go to school and are motivated to do so, you need to take advantage of it, no matter what time that is in your life---enjoy your kids while they are young,,school definitely takes a lot of quality time away from them, I know---but it is all worth it when you go---so anyways, I don't think the time away is bad, if and when you get the desire to do so, hit it with a full head of steam and determination----but, it is hard to find the "perfect" time to go---there will always be something there in your life that will make it hard---good luck in your decisions----
