IV bags are typically made of materials like polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polypropylene, or polyethylene, designed to be impermeable to liquids and gases. These materials should not absorb marking pen ink. However, certain types of ink, especially those with strong solvents, might interact with the bag's surface.

When marking IV bags, it's advisable to use specialized markers designed for medical or laboratory use to ensure the ink does not compromise the bag's integrity or leach into the contents. If there are specific concerns about a type of ink or marker, it's recommended to consult with the manufacturer or review the bag's material safety data sheet (MSDS) for compatibility information.

Also, consider using tape, writing on it, and then placing it where you need it on the bag.
