Sorry you're being put through the ringer. You should go to the highest authority at the school that has a say over nursing, make sure you go in person, and get the final answer (which will hopefully be that you do have a chance to get in) in writing. Bring the emails you received to show that you've been doing your part in finding out what is going on. Tell/show the person you are getting a lot of conflicting answers and want to avoid any further confusion in the future.
As for the testing money, I know at my school the tests are bought by the school so the school did not get a profit from the tests, but maybe some schools up the price so they get a cut.

Hi all,
I'm not sure if anyone can help me but, do any of you know if the fee for pre-entrance exams goes to the school or not? I ask b/c I applied to a local nursing program last year with a 3.75 and a 92 on my entrance exam, I also have all of my general education courses completed. I was declined admissions b/c I have not taken any classes at their school. When I emailed the dean of nursing to inquire about what I could do to become a more desirable applicant, I was told that I would never be accepted at their school b/c I have not taken any courses there. I was also told that I would not be allowed to re-take any of the courses because I got all A's and 1 B in the required courses. I recently sent an email to see if there was a chance of me getting accepted this application cycle. The response I got was, "Many students have been accepted that have taken no classes here. You should re-take the HESI. If you get a higher score you may be accepted." I was also told by this school, before I applied the first time, that there was a chance of being accepted without having classes from their school. I feel like I'm getting the run around by them, and it seems like they just want my money. Opinions?
