  1. I got accepted into a program that was about an hour and 20 minutes away from my house. The commute wasn't terrible, it actually gave me time to relax a bit, but it was the cost of gas and having a vehicle that wasn't always reliable that made me change my mind. Now my school is so close that a vehicles reliability and the cost of gas don't matter because I can walk to class :)

Hi beatrocka, Thanks for the congrats:) Isn't it weird that sometimes allnurses will notify you on new posts and sometimes it won't. Anyway, how's it going? You know I like to know anything I can about the program so I want to hear everything :) How was Nurs II and III? What were the clinicals like? What are the tests like? How many people are left in your class now? I heard a lot of people drop out in the 2nd semester. I didn't take micro through PCCC. I did take A&P I and II there though. Talk to you soon!
  3. Sorry you're being put through the ringer. You should go to the highest authority at the school that has a say over nursing, make sure you go in person, and get the final answer (which will hopefully be that you do have a chance to get in) in writing. Bring the emails you received to show that you've been doing your part in finding out what is going on. Tell/show the person you are getting a lot of conflicting answers and want to avoid any further confusion in the future. As for the testing money, I know at my school the tests are bought by the school so the school did not get a profit from the tests, but maybe some schools up the price so they get a cut.

Cool, is this your 2nd degree?

Congrats D! What other school are you looking into attending?

Hello, Thanks I can't believe you haven't heard anything. Have you called? When I submitted my application in September I asked if everyone would be notified either way and they said yes. I guess since classes don't start till late Jan maybe they feel they still have time to notify people. Good luck and keep me posted:) Michele

Hey Dee, Did you get your letter yet? I got mine a little over a week ago. I made it :). Orientation and registration is next week. I'm excited!
  8. I don't know of any in NJ, but Northampton Community College in Bethlehem PA has dorms and a 2 year nursing program.
  9. My school works on a points system. Each student is given a certain number of points depending on, the number of credits they have, their GPA, and their score on the NET. They deduct 1 point from each class that a student failed (getting less then a C is failing for us) and had to retake. So for you my school would deduct a point for Micro, but I'm not sure how they would handle your Intro to Psych since you didn't fail it in the first place. This seems to be a school by school rule so you would be best checking with each school.

Hello, I haven't seen a printable application either, so I believe you do have to go in and pick one up. At Sussex the applications are available in the Allied Health office. I was told once September rolls around to check frequently for them because there wasn't a set date they would be available. ~Michele

Thanks Dee. There wasn't a formal notice at Sussex about the NET changing and I was going to wait till Sept to take again, but I wandered over to PCCC website and found out that wasn't an option. They were going to change in June, but now its post-poned till Sept. From what I've seen at Sussex they are offering a pre-test for the TEAS during these summer months and PCCC is still offering the NET through August but they don't have any spots available. I'm so happy I got the NET done with. I'm impatently waiting too lol. As of Sept 1st I have set on the calender of my phone to check for the application through out the month. Did you see that they are now asking for more pre-req's for the night nursing students? Orginally I was told a year ago that you just needed Intro to Chem, but starting Jan 2011 you have to have Eng I and II, A&P I and II, General Psychology, Psychology of Human Growth and Develpoment, and Chem. At least we don't need Micro right away. Since you're taking it in the fall, how is Micro going to show up in the application? Will it just say "in progress" or something like that? ~Michele
  12. I took Psychology of Human Growth and Development online through Darton College in Georgia.

Hi, I somehow stopped getting notifications that anyone responded to this thread so that's why it's been so long since I wrote. How are you two doing? I got to retake the NET in May and got in the 98 percentile so that helped push my points up to the maximum 22. I'm so excited. Did you guys hear PCCC is doing away with the NET and using the TEAS, but not the science part of them? I didn't get a chance to take Micro this summer due to money so I'm hoping to take it this fall. I signed up for Nutrition and Statistic this fall also. I plan to transfer directly into a BSN program after getting my ADN so these 2 courses will be to transfer. The applications will be available in September so it's getting closer :) I heard you know if you made it in by Halloween.
  14. I don't have any info on classes, but when I looked in Walden RN-BSN I couldn't find who their BSN was accredited by. I know their MSN program is accredited, but when I looked it up for the BSN program, I didn't see it.
