Does CPI count as a CEU for license?

The TX BON website is so confusing to me. Does CPI renewal course count towards my 20 required hours of CEU for TX? How about my BLS renewal? I am having a hard time finding courses to do online for the renewal in my area of specialty..

I would check with your state BON for the most accurate answer. But here in CA, both CPI and BLS can count towards the 30 CEUs I need to rack up every 2 years. The catch is that I can use them only once per two years...so if for some odd reason I had to take BLS twice in that time frame, I could claim the hours for only one of those sessions.

Also--and again, you should check with your state's BON to see if this would be true for you too--but here in CA, I don't have to do all 30 hours in psych or whatever specialty I'm working in. They just have to be 30 hours of RN-level CEU classes.

When last I checked the TX BON (last renewal) BLS did not count. Not sure about your CPI. If in doubt...check out Medscape for a bunch of small free CEUs of all kinds.
