Does anyone know about working in Malta as a nurse ?

Published

Does anyone in the forum knows or perhaps is at the moment working at the moment in Malta ?

I have never seen anyone post here about working there.

Be aware that you will be required to take their licensing exam, in their language, as well as go thru the immigration process. That is where you may come up with some trouble.

Have you actually been to the island before? I was there a couple of years on a cruise.

The thing that I read about that official languages there are English and Maltese (however English is mainly used) which wouldn't be much of an obstacle.

Do u know any places where I can find resources about getting licensed there ? Immigration process?

It's pretty much as a personal interest that I feel to Malta. I've never been to there.

How's it like ?

The nursing exam will be in their native language, and usually not English.

I highly suggest that you visit there first before beginning the entire process. It is extremely different than what you are used to. And when I was there, there were very few people that actually spoke English, unless they were working with tourists.

It is also extreme desert, you almost see nothing growing outside............

Extremely barren. Everyone that I knew from there either moved to Europe or the US.

Since they are a country, you will need to contact their equivalent of a Board of Nursing and check out their requirements. Normally, you will need to have offer of a job before you will be granted a visa to work there. And expect the process to take about two years or so....I am sure that it will not be anything quick.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

found this not sure if it will help but if you contact them they may be able to help you find out more info
