Greetings!
I have been looking at online nursing courses for a while now but I have a concern that I needed so info about.
I was thinking about getting an online degree from an Institution like university of Phoenix or Liberty University (also online) These are "accelerated" courses. My concern is-what if I get my next degree from one of these places, but later continue on through a "regular" college where the classes are 12 weeks long rather than 4-5 weeks etc. Do you get transferable credits when you go with the on-line class? Or is it different?
Any imput would be greatly appreciated!

This is something that you have to research at the time you are making a decision. Most regular colleges do not accept courses from places like University of Phoenix. The only way to find out if there is an exception is to inquire and get it in writing. Say for instance you want to get a BSN from UofP, then attend, say, Texas Tech for an MSN. Find out from Texas Tech if they will accept UofP courses before you begin the entire process. You don't want to get your degree from UofP, then find out that all of the six schools you were interested in attending for an MSN, including Texas Tech, will not accept your courses from UofP.

UofP is fully accredited and easily transfers credit. Each 5 week course is a 3 credit course.
UofP or any online school might not be the way to go for initial nursing education. However, as an ADN RN, it was fine to finish the BSN.
I also did my MSN at UofP and have since pursued more education at other institutions and all my credits easily transferred.
