Does anyone know the salary and benefits of an RN in a doctors office in New York?

Hello everyone,

I am a new member to this site but have visited it frequently. I am wondering if anyone would be able to tell me the average salary of an RN in a doctors office in New York state. I have been working on a med/surg floor for just over a year now and am interested in a change of pace and better work hours. I was offered an office RN position the other day but the pay is significantly less than what I make now. I know that basically all Dr. offices pay less than the hospital but I don't know if I am willing to take a $10 and hour pay cut.

What part of New York state? Pay rates vary rather drastically from one part of the state to the other.

You'll be receiving $20/hour or less in a place like Plattsburgh and significantly more than that in Manhattan, so people need to know what part of the state you're seeking.

I posted this twice lol sorry! Thanks for the reply! I am located in western NY, I am just trying to weigh out the options. I don't think bedside nursing is for me so I would like a change of pace. I would even be willing to take $20 an hour but the place I applied for offered me $16 and I just don't know if that is the going rate for the area, or if maybe I could find somewhere willing to offer more.

You're probably lucky just to find an MD's office that still employs RN's. Most don't anymore.

Ok, thanks!

Instead of leaving the hospital and inpatient nursing, what about transferring within the hospital to a different service? Perhaps there are ambulatory jobs available there which would allow you to maintain your current hourly rate?
