Does anyone know how long it takes to get a temporary permit by endorsement?

Published

The website says up to 35 days for license but nothing about how long it takes to get a temporary permit. I tried calling and always get a machine. Also, how will I be notified? Will I get something to turn into human resources or will they just have to check the website? Thanks for any answers!

Bump.

I definitely hope someone answers this because I have sent off the apps for my RN and APN and when I called the board on May 2, 2011 I was told they were still working on entering the apps from April 12, 2011. So that would put them 16 business days behind in my mind.

I think I got mine within 2 weeks after I sent in all my paperwork. It was much easier than I expected. I also got my permanent license within 2 weeks of sending in my fingerprints. This was mid March, and my official license posted on April 21st, as in a month ago. I'm not sure if it will be slowed down now since all the nursing students should be graduating soon.

Also, check the online Ohio license board, it is updated as soon as they put your info in. I got a letter in the mail about 2 weeks after it posted online.

Mine was finally posted online after 3 weeks and a day and I received the notice in the mail in 4 weeks. It was so frustrating waiting so long! I did get a hold of them and they had everything they needed to process the temporary permit but they were just backed up 3-3 1/2 weeks. It's good to call and check because if you don't have everything you need they won't call and tell you. I found out they hadn't received my fingerprints (which they didn't need for the temporary permit) but would need them so I checked with my employer who originally sent them and for some reason they didn't go through so they re-sent them for me. The only number I could get a hold of someone was 614-995-7675 for future reference of anyone that needs it.

Thanks for responding you guys. I got checked the web today and my RN info has been entered and pending so I happy!

hi! could u tell me what all you had to mail in to receive the temporary license?

It took four weeks to the day for me to receive a temporary permit. The office is swamped with new grads and is processing as fast as they can
