The NET, not the NCLEX. They are probably going over to a different test thats all. I think I remember something about adding in some sciences.
thanks for your reply and that is what i inferred from the statement on the schools website and b/c i am the type of person to look into (obsess) over things so much, and i will be directly affected by that changeover at that time that since there is so much information out there and on here alone should i take the net (how long are the results good for to apply to schools for?) so that i at least have that as on option if i take the new test and it is much different or harder and i will obviously gonging into it blind, or without much knowledge of the layout or advice for it because it will be so new, that maybe i should take both entrance tests (if i have the option to submit the score and test if i can so that i have a better chance of getting in the top school i pick, up to any shcool at all.
does anyone have any thoughts on why they are making the change, is this normal practice to switch it up every so often? do you think they are making it more challenging since there is so much competition for ns's acceptance right now?
or., do you think that they are making it even less challenging (fingers and toes crossed) because that is about the time there should be an even more of a shortage of nurses because that is when all of the baby boomers with be needing a significant amount of medical care at that time.
please send me all of your thoughts as well as your thoughts on the net so that i can jump on taking that asap but still be within the deadline of the net being acceptable.
i would appreciate all of your thoughts on this, very much, because i don't want to lose out on my dream job b/c they changed the entrance test right after i finish my pre-req's and are in position to begin applying to nd.
thank you as i greatly appreciate any and all feedback i get on this. i was looking forward to the net because the ratio of reading?'s to math ?'s sounded perfect for me because i am a less mathematical person and a more literal student.
please let me know what you think the new test may be geared towards to and why you think they are making this change now.
thank you,

The net at my school was good for 2 years. And it was not that bad of a test. No calculators allowed! Basic Math, algebra, division, multiplication etc. with fractions. I found the reading part more challenging because of the pressure of being timed. I believe they are thinking of adding in some basic science and biology, I am not sure. But do not stress, it was all basic stuff.
my strengths are in reading and reading comprehension as opposed to math 9the basic i can do0 but i would refer to test without the science and biology so if that is the case i need to light a fire under my butt and take the net which is what i had a gut feeling about. as nursing programs are becoming more competitive, which i s understandable b/c it is in my opinion the last great job left out there according to the benefits, hours and stability being an rn provides.
if that is the case i may have to take the net sooner then later which means i may need to get my avn now as opposed to bsn and then bridge to that later.
thanks,
I would get it done. When I said basic math, I mean basic. Questions like 487+908, simply fractions (addition, mult, division, subtraction), long division, etc. The algebra was pretty basic also, only 10 questions I got them all right, and I am lousy in math! The worst part is not having a calculator, so start practicing doing fraction w/o one. Good Luck to you, you will do fine!
I think it wouldnt hurt to take it now too, then it may even get me moving faster on my pre-reqs.
Thanks you very much!
