Does ABHES mean its accredidated?

Published

I got into a LPN trade school. They are ABHES accredidated. Is this a bad thing? I don't want it to be a problem getting into a LPN to RN bridge program.

ABHES is a national accreditation. Regional accreditation is what's important.

The LPN programs offered at community colleges and state universities tend to be regionally accredited, while trade school LPN programs have only state approval or national accreditation. Regional accreditation is what allows your credits to transfer from one institution to another.

However, I know people who were able to get into bridge programs after attending LPN programs at trade schools. However, they had to take all their prerequisite classes at regionally accredited community colleges or local universities.

Its approved by Nursing Board in the State of Massachusetts but not accredidated. So I guess none of the classes I am taking for my LPN will be transferrable. I have alot of my pre-requisites from Community College for RN, so I hope to transfer all of them to the LPN-RN Bridge program-Hoping to get into CFCC in Florida when I finish the LPN program.
