So I'm finally entering my last semester of nursing school, :w00t: and I'm set to do a preceptorship over at Doctor's Hospital at White Rock Lake. I checked out the hospital's website, and it doesn't appear to specialize in much high acuity care. Also, I've been reading some older posts that are definitely not very flattering. Is there anyone who could give me an updated scoop on this hospital?

Worked there a while and found it a friendly place, compared to the other area hospitals. The ICU had some high acuity patients but the ER does not see much because of the proximity to Presby and Baylor. I know an agency nurse who has worked the ER and thinks that the staff are very friendly. Most places treat agency and travelers as the stuff you find on the bottom of your shoes, so that is saying a lot for an agency nurse to be welcomed and made to feel part of the team.

I had clinicals there last semester and it was pretty ok. Many of the nurses were wonderful to work with, you quickly learn the ones to avoid but I am sure that is true anywhere you go. But no, nothing too exciting happens there...at least not on my watch.
