Do You need to be in a good Health before starting nursing school?

Any tips in How can I preparen my self well enough before i start nursing school .?

emotionally

mentality

Physically

I'm a pre nursing student. I would say drink plenty of water. Take vitamins. Vitamin c and fish oil are the best. Try to eat healthy foods as well.

Nursing school is stressful and time consuming. I would recommend to get your house in order, make sure it's clean and organized because you will not have time for that sort of stuff once it starts. Let family and friends know that you are going to be MIA. I couldn't socialize nearly as much during school as I did previously and during school breaks. I would also get into the habit of eating right, exercising, and just in general taking care of yourself. If you live on your own I would get some meals into the freezer so that you don't have to think about what to eat/cook to avoid falling into fast food or ordering in.

If you do these things you will be as ready as you can be for what is to come. It is stressful and busy but by pacing yourself and being prepared you will be able to do it. Good Luck!

Thank you for these smarts ideas guys!! Is really helpful.... I have about a year to start NS so by then I should be in a good health in general. Also time enough to prepared for my prerequisites.

Develop good sleeping habits. Get used to going to bed early and getting up early. This will not only help you through nursing school and clinicals but through life in general.

Train yourself to leave your personal problems out of your work/school life. People who aren't able to do that crash and burn quickly.
