Hmm... Well I got an interview next week as a new grad for ICU. I have been holding out for this position and turned down several other job offers.

I did my clinical there. I had the chance to work with the nurses. They had a lot of rotten things to say about the place. Between their comments, patients comments and my own observations, it does not seem to be a very good place to be.

(example: the first nurse I worked with said that the nurses are treated like sh** and are never backed up by admin. They work you to death. Oh - and the religious nature of the place - they try to make you cough up some of your salary to go toward their mission work)

Wow thank you so much, I didn't know all that. I have an interview this next week for an ICU job. I really enjoy ICU, but I'm also afraid of working in terrible environment since I am a new grad. I guess as a new grad we need all the support we can get.

the hospital in st augustine is supposed to be a nicer place to work at. the people i know there have been there forever - over 20 years
