Do you think it really matters that much ?

Im a pre-nursing student , and im wondering if your nursing school is going to affect your standing on being accepted into a CRNA program. Has anyone else transfered from one school beg. of junior year to a different state and their experience with it. Thanks

Hi,

First off, you will need a BSN or an RN with another 4 year degree in a related science. Then you will need at least a year of critical care experience as a full time RN. These are a couple of requirements... my suggestion would be to ask this question over on the Pre CRNA board...Good Luck;)

We were told by the professors in our BSN program that it all depends on how many candidates the school you are looking to transfer into or get into their Master's program is needing to take on. Some programs have students beating down their doors to get in. Others don't. If there is a lot of competition to get into a program your grades will make a very big difference. If not, the school will often bend their own rules is what we were told. You need to do some research on the schools you are interested in. I may be wrong on this, but I think that a person's employment has a big effect on entrance into some of these CRNA programs as well. I'm thinking of one particular employer of CRNAs that sponsors and pays for a number of their employees to attend these programs.
