Do you still have energy to cook after a 12 hour shift?

Published

Hi! I'm writing this as I wait to clock out from my 6:30 am to 7:00 pm shift. The one thing on my mind is FOOD. What am I going to eat?? Should I cook or buy something? I have to be up early tomorrow for clinical. I like my sleep but I feel like I'm just being lazy.

That led me to wondering, what does everyone else do??? Do you guys still have energy to cook after your 12 hour shift, whether it be a day or night shift??

My husband was antsy and hungry tonight when I got home, telling me all he had was wonton soup. I made him chicken cordon bleu, angelhair pasta with zucchini and mushrooms, and a German chocolate cake. I'm weak.

If by cook you mean uncork a bottle of wine then yes, I cook after a 12 hr shift all the time....

No, just no. Cold beer and a fresh bag of chips to hold me over until I wake up with enough hunger to cook something, which doesn't happen. The best thing I have to eat are my sandwiches while I am at work. Now that I type this I am seeing the urge to change my nutritio....oh wait, no nvm its just another delicious cold beer.
