Do the RN classes prepare you for the NCLEX-PN?

Published

I'm in nursing school to be a RN in the fall and really want to make something better than the $9hr I make as a CNA. I'm curious if I will be prepared for the NCLEX-PN after the first year since I will be elgible to take it. I just hear people talk about the two different schools and LPN school seems vastly different. I wonder if they both prepare you equally as well for the LPN license exam?

Check with your BON , i have heard some states allow to do that but NOT sure... the thing is you wont have all the content covered. if you try to take the PN.. remember that PN is a nursing program that covers same topics as RN..maybe a few differences here and there. The biggest difference is in what an RN and LPN can and can not do..if you are able to..just concentrate on the RN program...the further you go the more material to read and learn. Hang in there..you will be done before you know it. All the best

That was the long version of my question. My state does allow it. I was wanting to buy some study materials for the PN so I could be a little more prepared and was wondering what I might look into since the programs are so different. Maybe a used PN textbook thats cheap? I was also thinking of using a test prep book at some point if anyone thought that helped, but not sure which one?
