Do your patients tend to request an epidural?

Published

I know some women who want a natural birth start out not wanting an epidural but end up not being able to tolerate the pain. So working in a hospital where epidurals are available, I was curious about how often, if at all often, women give in and request one?

I am curious to know this statistic too. I had twins via c-section, then opted to VBAC my baby 14 months later.....I had no option other than a hospital because of my c-section scar. I had to be on the monitor the whole time. I made it to 5cm then was in agony (I think a lot of it was anxiety over worrying about my scar rupturing....it happened to a woman in my neighborhood a few months prior...) so I got the epidural and it was a peaceful and wonderful labor. It's wonderful that we have a choice :)
