Hello,
I am in LPN school and am considering once I am finished to get my RN online. I hesitate as I know the clinical experience is very limited for the online programs. I am considering excelsior but have learned that there is not a lot of clinical (one weekend). Can someone recommend another online program that does offer more clinical time? I live in Cincinnati, OH. Will I get enough clinical experience just going through LPN school to do an online RN????

excelsior does not offer any clinical....the 2.5 day weekend is a evaluation of your skills....it is also not online but a self paced program....have you checked into indiana state university.....they have a online lvn to bsn with clinical's in your own area.....you can do a search to get more info...good luck
I have heard of them but they only offer a BSN and not an RN, right?
it is a lvn to bsn program....someone with a bsn is a rn (after passing boards of course) just for clarification
i have heard of them but they only offer a bsn and not an rn, right?

When you get right down to it, probably nobody gets enough clinical experience, especially if their clinical placements are as limited as mine were. It is up to you to decide what you are comfortable with. The ISU program is probably the best for you. Research it thoroughly though and be aware that you can do it without signing any contracts with The College Network.
