Hi to all IENs

Could I please ask, do you really need to get a job offer before travelling to Canada? I just dont get the idea of travelling only for the CRNE exam. I have read many threads about the CRNE but not many people mention about having a job offer.

It would be much helpful for other IENs if we could hear from those who already had 'been there, done that' kind of experience. We would be very happy to hear from you fellas.

Cheers

Depends on the route you are planning on being able to live and work in Canada. If FSW then currently yes you need a job offer because the cap has been reached for this year (1000)

Hi RNsunny,

Job offer is not necessary travelling to Canada, If you have papers and able to migrate the better. Maybe some people just used their visitors visa just to take the CRNE exam but the thing is you cannot register in ontario as an RN even if you have passed the CRNE without presenting to them documentation of your status here in canada (e.g. Citizenship, permanent residency, refugee). Most of the filipinoes here who are planning to take CRNE are landed immigrants. If you are deemed eligible to take the CRNE you can take it even if you dont have status here in canada but as what I said it is futile until you have your status and that's the only time you can practice as RN here

Hope this helps
