I'll be done with their required prerequisites by Christmas!! I'm going to apply by September (deadline). I'm so nervous!!!

I attend a traditional BSN program at a public university in Texas. I got into my program with a 3.28 (I think anyways. I am about to start my senior year so its been awhile, but I remember it was slightly above a 3.25). As long as you make good grades this next semester (mainly A's and maybe a B or two), if your school is anything like mine, you have a good chance. So many people propose this question on allnurses, and honestly it is really hard to say how it will turn out for you. Most schools have a 3.0 minimum, but at some schools those who actually get accepted have closer to a 4.0. And at super competitive programs, sometimes those with a 3.9/4.0 are wait listed. Other schools, like mine, as long as you had a 3.25 or better and mainly A's ad B's in your sciences, you pretty much got in. If you have the opportunity to, I would ask some people who are already in the program, and see what their GPA was like to get a better comparison. Best of luck!

Don't forget you have many factors that the nursing board at your school reviews in your application packet. Your TEAS scores, your volunteer service, letters of recommendation.

You have great stats! I think you have a chance (you also have to consider the factors posted above). Typically GPA's over 3.5 are considered competitive but I guess it depends on the school you apply to (at my school I would say a 3.7ish and a good HESI score, etc.). Good luck. I hope you get in!
