Hey guys,
This is my first post on here! I am applying to CSU nursing programs for Fall 2024, and am in the process of taking Physiology (last pre-req) and preparing for the TEAS. I'm from the Bay Area and am attending community college locally. I was wondering what my chances are for transferring to CSUEB, SJSU, SFSU, CSUF, CSUS, and SDSU?
- bilingual (seal of biliteracy)
- CNA (will have 200 hours of work experience by the time applications are due)
- completed all co-reqs
GPA: 4.0 (projected)
TEAS: will be taking it at the end of October for the 1st time. Super nervous, any tips are appreciated!

Your chances are excellent. Why are you so concerned? Your GPA is outstanding and being bilingual is a huge asset. At many state colleges/universities, nursing programs are impacted, so that would be the only hurdle, but there is nothing you can do about that. Apply to multiple schools like you are doing. Also consider the UC schools like UC Davis, UCLA, UC Irvine, etc. Your grades are good enough. You may get enough financial aid to cover the extra cost.
Also, don't rule out private schools like Univ of SF and Univ of San Diego Hahn School of Nursing. Sometimes private schools will provide more financial aid, so you won't pay anymore than for a state school.
Good luck

Heyy!! CSUEB student here! Your stats are great! Here they do a point system, so 500 hrs of both community and hospital would boost your chances. Also try doing really good in your science TEAS exam!! Just in case you are in a tie w/ an applicant. I got a 90 on the science portion. Make sure you also stand out in your personal statements!
For SFSU , I got rejected because I think they rely heavily on your experience and I had like 150 hours. ?

Hi! Thank you for replying to my post. For the point system, is it that everyone with above 75 hours (east bay) gets the same amount of points? Or do they give you more points with more hours? For all the schools, I'm applying with 120 hours since that's the minimum for SFSU and I would like to complete my applications ASAP. I got a 90.9 on the science portion! Also, did you apply to SJSU?

Oh that's great! Congrats on 90.9:). Yes, so you get certain amount of points depending on the hours you have. At 75 hours you get the minimum and at 500 hours, you get the maximum.
No, I was planning on applying to SJSU but I took a class that was different from what they wanted and I had to go through this paper work process and the program signed it too late.

I thought you'd get maximum points with more than 450 hrs? I'm assuming so because on the health&community form the option where you can select if you had the most hours was "___ more than 450 hrs" or was it mentioned in your acceptance email?

You are right. It's more than 450 hrs. Sorry it's been a while ?
