Do you all have coumadin clinics where you live?

I hadn't heard about it until a snow bird that goes to FL every winter told me about them. They check your PT/INR and then give you orders what to do. She said it was super handy. Are these a coming trend? I should open up one of these in my town! I wonder if the docs would be for or against it, and if the docs have to refer them. How does it work??

The local county hospital in the county where I live operates Coumadin clinics. The patient population is varied and interesting: young women who developed clots related to use of birth control, middle aged and elderly people with atrial fibrillation, patients with old CVAs, people on dialysis, people with mechanical heart valve replacements, and so forth.

I live in SW Florida and my primary care physician and his group practice have ine for their patients. They get a finger stick and adjustments in dosage are made. I went for a year. Their clinic made my life simplier.
