Do ADN nurses graduate with a robe or nurse uniform?

Published

I was just wondering what nurse grads(adn rn) wear for the graduation ceramony. Do RN nurse grads wear robes or nursing uniforms or what did you wear for your graduation?

I'll be graduating in December (God willing!). We have our pinning ceremony rigth after graduation and the school graduation ceremony in May 2008. For the pinning ceremony we will be wearing our white school uniforms but we were told that there is no way they will allow us to wear caps:angryfire... for the May thing, it will be the same as the rest of the school...caps and gowns.

We wear the typical graduation gown and cap in royal blue boring

I wish we wore a traditional nursing uniform and cap. I think it's a shame it's done done that way. Oh well.

I don't know if we do pinning.

My school isn't a college so right now it's the nursing class that graduates in 1 ceremony. My understanding is that the 2009 class will graduate with all the "schools" together. It used to be a nursing school and the place also had a radiology school and so on. Now it's 1 school with departments. This is a hospital based program with some done by a local university...I heard there will be a RN to BSN program starting soon. It's really a growing program and they plan to have the entire school (which will be many departments under 1 title now) graduate together.

I'm glad I'm graduating this coming year. We are already 1 school with departments but that happened this year and they aren't prepared to do it all at once yet!
