DNP recommendations

Published

Hello everyone, I'm graduating in may with my masters in nurse practitioner (psych). It's been a long three years going to school, working full time, and having a 3 and 5 years-old. I'm thinking of going right for my DNP later this year. I'm looking for an online program that works with you financially (assists with financial aide application) as I don't think I'll be able to keep up with the expensive credits (though my employer does offer 7500 a year of employee assistance though I'm not sure if I'll be remaining with them as a reg nurse or seeking a new position with them as an NP post graduation— or moving on to another employee.) Any insight would be appreciated as this is all uncharted territory. So far I've just been looking at Chamberlain (employee offers discount) and Cappella. Thanks!!

Hey C.R.H.,

Congrats for working through your masters degree program while juggling so many other life responsibilities. I have every confidence you'll love being a PMHNP and will help a lot of people in that role!

I was accepted to Fort Hays State University's DNP cohort, which starts in June. Decided to take advanced stats this semester to get it out of the way. Have been very happy with the organization and communication thus far. The tuition is very affordable, as well.

I'm personally a fan of the non-profit schools, but there are plenty of folks that have had positive experiences with the for-profits.

May be worth looking into!
