I am applying for fall entry into an online DNP program with an education focus. I'm having such a hard time writing my essay of purpose that I'm starting to doubt my abilities to earn the degree. I also have to narrow down a topic and write a project proposal. I know I will be ok but I need some guidance/pointers.
I'm passionate about nursing education and currently teach. How do I show that without sounding like a gushing idiot? Also I'm confused about "what my goal is" with the degree. I value personal growth and education. I don't need my DNP to continue in my current position and would be fine staying where I am. I want my DNP for growth and learning. Can I say that?
Absolutely! Be candid about your intentions. You value the DNP as you are passionate about education and you believe in order to educate the future nurses, you should continue your education. The best way to educate others is to first educate yourself!

I agree, be honest. I used the DNP essentials and referenced many of them in my application. I also wrote about how earning a DNP would allow me to make contributions to the nursing profession and nursing education.
